Unlike polyethylene (PE) foam materials, polyurethane (PU) foam is much more flexible and absorbs impacts with a soft, responsive feel. Its lightweight, open-cell structure offers excellent cushioning performance and reliable protection against damage. At the same time, it’s highly breathable, low density, and cost-effective.

Convoluted foam is the perfect solution when your case needs extra protection – without added weight. 

Typical applications include:
 

  • Safe transport of sensitive electronic devices
  • Protection for cameras, drones, or measuring instruments
  • Storage of musical instruments or microphones
  • Packaging for tools or delicate individual components

Here’s where convoluted foam reaches its limits:

  • Very heavy or sharp-edged items may damage the foam

  • Prolonged exposure to moisture or high humidity can degrade the material

  • For environments with extremely strict hygiene requirements (e.g., the medical or food industry), convoluted foam is not the best option
